This is a list of important features in the Trilobite Solutions app that you should be aware of.
Show GPS and UTM coordinates for a point on the map
Place your finger on the map for at least half a second. When you lift your finger, a popup will appear with the GPS coordinates. Tap on the pop-up for coordinates in other formats, and to copy them to the clipboard.
You can use this system to paste a coordinate into the search field in the ‘Apple maps’ or ‘Google maps’ apps. Both accept GPS coordinates as latitude, longitude.
Enable continual centering of the map to your current location
Place your finger on the centre-map button (circular icon on the right) for at least half a second. When you lift your finger, the icon will be coloured green. While the icon is green the map will re-centre itself every minute to your current location. To disable, tap the centre-map button again. It will then have no green colouring.
Import trails and locations created in Google Earth
1. On a computer, use ‘Google Earth’ to create locations (‘placemarks’) and trails (‘paths’)
2. Export these as KML (not KMZ)
3. Email the .kml file to yourself
4. On your phone or tablet, open the email, tap the attachment, and open in Australian Geology Travel Maps or Canadian prospector. These new trails and locations will appear on your map.

Save satellite imagery to your phone for offline use
Use QGIS on your computer to connect to Google satellite imagery and save a selected area to an MBTiles file. Then copy this file to your phone with your USB charging cable.
See the video at https://trilobite.solutions/maps/videos/#QgisMbtiles for details.
Import point, line and polygon data from other systems
Use QGIS on your computer to convert GPX files, shape files, mapinfo files and KML files to Geojson. Email the .geojson files to your phone and open them with your Trilobite Solutions app. Android phones/tablets must have at least 2 GB RAM to run this system which is a part of the data layers system.

If any of the above do not work, then you are not running the latest version of your Trilobite Solutions app. Run the App store app on your iPhone/iPad or Play store on your Android phone/tablet and choose ‘Updates’ to update the app.
